Regional Overview
The Australian Environmental Division – operating in the worlds’ driest continent – is uniquely structured to provide specialist services to the Water Resources Sector in addition to the Traditional Environmental work conducted globally. The sub division, within the Australian Environmental Division was formalised with the acquisition of Ecowise Environmental in December 2009. The ALS Penrith facility, based in the Western outskirts of Sydney incorporates two ALS Environmental business sectors. Operating from this site are the Monitoring and Technical Services and Water Sciences Groups. Water Sciences Group, provides water-related and environmental services to clients across Australia.
The Water Sciences Group consists of a core of aquatic ecologists, engineers and environmental scientists with expertise in ecological monitoring and assessments, ecological research, water quality management, treatment process science and environmental management. Water Sciences Group’s quality management systems are designed to facilitate effective delivery to clients and are compliant with AS/NZS ISO 9001:2000.
The Monitoring and Technical Services (MATS) branch provides specialised Hydrographic services for the metropolitan and regional water utilities as well as Government. The Group operates above and below ground sites, including sewage and surface water flow, rainfall, dam level, ground water, meteorological parameters, water quality parameters, compliance monitoring, alarming and data archiving and reporting services. The Penrith office provides quotations, technical advice, sample containers, sample pick up and container delivery.
